Folding bike specialist Brompton has produced its one millionth bike today, based on the original Mark One model.
Brompton has been at the forefront of folding bike technology since its inception in 1975, and is still one of the biggest names in the industry. This is largely due to the revolutionary folding design which allows it to collapse to a compact, transportable size.
The new bike echoes the classic Mark One red frame, with silver components and aluminium touchpoints, and has been signed by the inventor and founder, Andrew Ritchie, as well as the current CEO.
After 47 years in the industry, the millionth bike to be made by the brand will hit the streets as part of its ‘All Together Different’ campaign.
The campaign is set to focus on how Bromptons have impacted urban cycling and how cities can adapt their landscapes to promote healthier and more sustainable living.
‘From getting more people to swap fossil fuel powered transport for cycling, to building products that last decades not years, we want to continue to inspire new ways of doing things’, says Will Butler-Adams, CEO at Brompton.
The millionth bike will go on tour across the globe to 16 cities, with ride-outs and talks organised at each location, with the aim to share both the bike and the campaign with the Brompton community.
