Colnago has released its newest addition to the C-Series, the C68 Allroad, an endurance take on the existing C68 Road. With the launch of the performance-driven V4Rs last December, the Italian brand’s newest bike is all about day-to-day riding. It’s an endurance bike that Colnago says aims to cover long days in the saddle over a variety of surfaces.

Colnago already has a fully-fledged gravel bike in the form of its G3-X, and the brand says that the C68 Allroad is ‘not a road bike, nor a gravel bike’ but exists to cover the space in between.

The Allroad will give riders up to 35mm tyre clearance, up from 32mm on the C68 Road, as well as a more relaxed geometry, which Colnago says should make the riding experience more comfortable when taking the bike off smooth tarmac.

As such, it is unsurprising that the Allroad has a shorter reach and higher stack than its tarmac-focussed counterpart, but it actually surpasses the G3-X gravel bike in these regards as well, with 10mm longer reach and 23mm higher stack on average.
Colnago
Colnago says it is keen to reinforce the fact that the Allroad is not an out-and-out off-road machine, highlighting that it is best suited to tarmac, cobblestones, light gravel and other uneven surfaces.

The Allroad frame has also seen some changes, with a squarer, octagonal down tube and reinforced seatstays and chainstays. It’s built from several modular parts, rather than in a monocoque design, and Colnago says it has been refined to create an almost seamless finish.

Available in either a multi-tonal white/black or pure black paintjob, the Allroad will only be sold with electronic groupsets from the big three manufacturers, Campagnolo, Shimano and SRAM. A choice of wheels is also on offer, with different options from Enve, Campagnolo, Shimano or Fulcrum.

Never one to put budget before beauty, Colnago has set the RRP for a C68 Allroad, with Dura-Ace Di2 and Shimano C50 wheels, at a whopping €15,335, keeping things very much in the realm of luxury and decadence.
