As I stated in our Bikepacking Gear That Lasts roundup, there aren’t too many dropper posts I trust for a long trip. I’ve killed droppers from five or six other brands at this point. However, we’ve had really good luck with latest Fox Transfer.
We brought two along on the Baja Divide, and then to Oaxaca, and even put a ton of miles on them before and after that. They’re both still going strong with no service. Today, Fox just updated the SL version of the Transfer. And while I haven’t tried it, it looks promising. Find details on the new Fox Transfer SL below.
Starting at 327g, the revamped Fox Transfer SL is 25% lighter than the standard Transfer post. Fox claims that this makes it the lightest mainstream dropper on the market. The Transfer SL has lever options for drop bars, flat bars, and 2x front shifters. Here are the full specs from Fox:
