Having a variety of jersey thicknesses and sleeve length is a must for year-round cycling. Velocio’s Signature Long Sleeve Jersey offers added warmth and protection in a midweight design. It’s not a thermal jersey, but the micro-brushed back adds coziness and optimizes breathability for the right conditions.

Shoulder-season champ
When something is named a “signature” piece, that should mean something. For Velocio, that’s the core product line, showcasing their versatility and overall function to serve cyclists across a wide range of conditions. A core part of that line is the Velocio Signature Long Sleeve Jersey — with its Italian-milled fabric, efficient cut and lasting looks. I began testing this jersey when the leaves started changing, used it occasionally on warmer winter rides and now into spring, so it’s seen a variety of cool and cold weather. Before digging in further, let’s talk construction and fit.
Some brands fit like their kits were made just for you. Velocio seems to have scanned my body and custom-made their jerseys and bibs. Sleeve length is excellent and the hem length is too (plus it features full silicone grippy rubber all the way around. The overall cut provides the right fit for an efficient day on the bike. With enough compression and stretch to provide muscle support while flexing with every move, the Signature Long Sleeve moves efficiently through the wind without excess materials.
Fall gravels getting all matchy-matchy.
Velocio is shooting straight, calling this a midweight layer. Given its thickness, you won’t want to wear it in the summer, but it’s also not ideal for extreme cold. So, with that, I’d venture to call this jersey the “shoulder-season champ” because at temperatures between 45 and 65, you’ll feel right at home. For Utah, this one is perfect for September – November and again from March – May. As you can see, I’ve paired it up with both the Velocio Thermal Bib Shorts and Bib Knickers for an excellent kit.
The collar is the perfect height and diameter.
And, it also works perfectly with the Velocio Ultralight Jacket.
The height and diameter of the micro-fleece collar is just right to add warmth alone or underneath a jacket. It works in harmony with the collar on the Velocio Ultralight Jacket without feeling constricted (I’m sure they planned that). However, I have found the zipper to be challenging to find and pull on-the-fly due to the sizable zipper garage and minimalist zipper pull. Might I suggest a little longer pull for easier access?
That smooth fabric face slides easily underneath jackets and the micro-grid interior face acts as a vacuum that soaks up perspiration and allows it to evaporate in a hurry. Some jerseys are body-mapped, but Velocio has chosen to use the same fabric throughout — because it performs so well.
A jacket, extra gloves, a hat, spare kit and more — all in there.
I’ll add that the anatomical sleeve cuffs are a great touch that provides proper coverage in the riding position. On top of that, the rear jersey pockets can be stuffed to the hilt with everything you need for a cold desert gravel ride. Each pocket is easily-reached and the zippered sleeve features a waterproof liner to keep your wallet from getting soggy.
Fit: I’m 5’11” and 175 lbs, wearing the size medium Velocio Signature Long Sleeve Jersey.

The Bottom Line: Velocio Signature Long Sleeve Jersey
