Today’s installment of Weekend Snapshot takes us to an unexpected mix of countries to join readers on their loaded bikepacking trips and out in the community. Find vignettes and a beautiful set of photos from rides in Poland, North Carolina, and Sweden here…
We’re back with another edition of Weekend Snapshot, this time zooming in on reader-submitted rides, campouts, and more in a Swedish forest, a Polish desert, and a campus in the hills of North Carolina. You can check out all three below, then scroll down to the bottom of this post to share a quick snapshot from one of your recent bikepacking trips.

Some friends and I recently enjoyed our fourth annual spring adventure just an hour’s train ride away from Stockholm. We took in some of the varied riding throughout the remote forest of Sörmland, pedalling 125 kilometres over two days full of brilliant sunshine. It was still a bit too early for the leaves on the trees but warm enough to melt the ice and let us fully appreciate the riding.

We made it to the campus of Warren Wilson College on Saturday to see the premiere of Monte, an upcoming film from Patagonia. Fellow bikepacker contributor to The Bikepacking Journal Jalen Bazile led the festivities with a bikepacking demonstration followed by the film screening and a Q&A with the director Dave Mayers, subject Demonte Cosby, and producer Jess Daddio. It was a great film, so be sure to watch for additional screenings and more about it over the coming weeks.

I’ve long envied the desert bike trips posted here on BIKEPACKING.com, and some friends and I decided to try one for ourselves, and we put together an interesting route to the Kozłowska Desert. Although calling a mere 20 hectares a desert seems a bit exaggerated, we had a great time, and the sunrise was an incredible reward.
